I hear that from Andrew Wilson too. The thing I always think is that is the real world. That’s why morality shifts with time.
What was moral historically no longer is today. We decide through open discourse, debate, and social interaction what it is we deem ‘wrong’ etc.
It’s messy, but it is the real world for anyone non religious. ( I’d argue for some of the religious too. )
When I say murder is immoral for example, I’m not claiming a stance from God. I’m saying ‘people’ that have overlap with the same morality as me see it as immoral, and ‘hopefully’ those views are reflected in laws of the land. Nothing more, nothing less.
For me, having an objective morality would be better, sure, but there isn't one IMO. This is the next best thing.
