So, first, I address this to an extent in the piece I wrote, but also, this isn't about convincing people that this is genocide, it's about convincing others they don't need an *expert* to tell them what they already see. Because of this, I didn't make a single argument in the piece for *why* it's genocide. I'm working on those arguments for a much larger project I'm working on with others that will come out later.

That being said, outside of the explanations I gave in the post, yes, we *do* fall within those descriptions, and it's a colonizer mindset that makes us believe that we don't. As I mention in the piece, even the person who coined the term genocide and led to the charge to get this resolution passed believed that colonization was the source of genocide.
