Yes, cultural fit is very important, and that is part of being the right person for the job. I won't accept a contract if I don't like the people I'm likely to work with. There's a question I love to ask the interviewer/s, "What do you like most about working here?" If they look at me like I just landed from Mars, then it's a good indication for me to walk away. If they love the question and jump to respond, then that is very positive.
