In my view the Labour Party has effectively collected, filtered out and neutralised socialists for 50 years on behalf of neoliberal paymasters. They have generally been docile in their own collection. The movement to the right has continued apace under governments of every colour, with the captured socialists wringing their hands. Sad and perhaps harsh, but true nonetheless.
