For me, that's the real rub with Telegram. I don't need every app to have Fort Knox level security or privacy, but I expect them to be honest about their choices.
Telegram has a long track record of deceptive marketing. I haven't seen any out-and-out lies but they're consistently trying to make their platform seem like something it is not.
