I can appreciate the reason without accepting the result.
I can also appreciate that Carney is in a tough situation. Trudeau tried to do “the right thing” with regard to the environment which resulted in bad polls and the prospect of a Poilievre majority government. A majority of Canadians took a short term view and saw the economy as the most important thing and the environment as a much lower priority.
As bad as the moves towards accommodating the fossil fuel industry are, I can’t help but think they’d be much worse under Polievre. I’d rather have an economist with a doctorate in charge of managing that than a accommodating right wing career politician.
