Hiking Lila Lake part 4. Waterfalls along the trail have their own habitat niches. Photos 2 & 3: maidenhair fern (Adiantum aleuticum) and wood saxifrage (Saxifraga mertensiana) literally clinging to the rock of the falls. Photo 4: I made a friend, a Cascades frog (Rana cascadae, and yeah I had to look it up on the app cause I know nothing about frogs). Surprised to see it scampering about the falls because that water is ice cold.
