I had some handed-down Onkaparingas identical to that when my babies were born 20 years ago, but they were already well worn and had a few little holes and frayed edges. I cut them up, dyed them dark blue and bright red, sewed ribbon binding round the edges, and they became cot blankets. I’ve kept them for the next generation of babies (so they’ll go to the original owner’s great- or great-great-grandchildren).
