So when I point out I find his films a bit shallow & fundamentally conservative, his style simultaneously overcomplicated & rather lazy, & his plots & character bland it's not because you can't love a film that has areas of weakness.

There is nothing wrong with that. Art need not be perfect. That's actually a lie that alienates you from your creativity.

I point out that the hype is false because I dislike the industry it fucking celebrates & detest the fucking self-congratulation of it all.
