That would be less a "defense" of art & more an assault on art I don't care for.
But for me this comes back to the film industry as a business & as a network for the accumulation of power & influence.
Chris Nolan films are not for me, but I don't take issue with viewers finding enjoyment. I take issue with a narrative that comes from a much more motivated place, from people with every reason to tell themselves that this guy may be the greatest director of all time.
