I'm fine with "fascism" as a sort of Umbrella term. Post war Italian fascists went through a big rebranding as some of the original values (imperialism, antisemitism, colonialism, corporal punishment) went out of fashion in the Neoliberal era (it's a simplification, I know), which also contributed to a general washing of Mussolini's regime (remember: Italy was the Western country with the strongest Communist party)
