There seems to me to be quite a few people who criticize Gnome for making the pointer travel to open the list of installed apps very long. Yet there's a ton of extensions that makes scrolling on the desktop switch workspaces without holding Super, but none(?) that makes scrolling on the desktop open Activities. Seems strange to me. This would solve the pointer travel issue for most mice.
