Oh, and for even more fun, you can prove to yourself, using the same setup and taking a single measurement every day or so, that the angle between the Sun and the Moon takes four weeks to traverse 360°.

Additionally, you can also easily observe and prove to yourself that the Earth is rotating by the process of elimination. 1) All the constellations are easily observed to move in 360-degree arcs across the sky every day. 2) By the laws of relative motion, we know that either the Earth is rotating, or all of these stars are rotating around us. 3) We know the distance to many of the stars in these constellations exceeds one light year. 4) If a star is one light year away from us or more, and it rotates around the Earth once per day, its speed must be at least 6.28 x 365 x the speed of light, which is not possible. 5) Therefore the Earth is rotating.
