I thought I had turned the feature off in my phone, but randomly in traffic while I was trying it opened a little window that covered the turn I was trying to find on the GPS map, and said, "Hi how can I help you today?"
Reflexively, I blurted in shock: "Oh fuck OFF!!"
"I may just be an AI assistant, but words matter." Tone of patient reproach. It kept talking-- I remember hearing the term "respectful"-- but I hit the flashpoint of rage at that point and just started bellowing at it. "AS IF GOOGLE KNOWS OR GIVES A SINGLE SHIT ABOUT RESPECT, YOU MINDLESS PILE OF GARBAGE!" and so on.
The name thing gets me, too. The presumption! Uninvited familiarity does not endear me to these things.
