“Duty” … as I said parent have responsibility, not rights.

There are times in which parents must promote the *child’s* rights against the state. As in any case where one person is a caretaker for the rights of another, they are ultimately responsible to *that person* for their exercise and guardianship of those rights.

I whole-heartedly reject the notion that parents have innate rights of their own.
