BTW, if anyone knows how to reliably do this for bottlebrushes, I'd been *very* keen to know.
Have been trying for a few years without success yet (having tried with various rooting hormones, and with just plain water / soil too).
It should be possible in Christchurch climates though, as I've seen a few where it looks like someone has pulled it off.
