Aaron likes to listen to podcasts, watch anime, code, game, or go for walks to relax.
These have all become actions that Flip interferes with on a regular basis. He will watch his dad's computer or phone for a bit before grabbing to take over whatever game he's playing or site he is browsing, rejecting suggestions that they switch to Flip's own tablet or laptop to play games, and will make up excuses to stop his dad going for walks or insisting he comes with.
We get very little alone time.

2) We're ALL neurodivergent in this house. We all have our own ways to self-regulate. Unfortunately our needs frequently come into conflict. I sing randomly and clean as I go. Or at least I did.
Flip hates. HATES. Other people singing. Mainly in his presence, but increasingly within earshot.
And he's started getting upset and stopping me from cleaning. Even coming in from another room if he hears me, to stop me. 🙃
So I have to BE QUIET, in my own house, most of the damned day.

I also haven't mentioned lately, but I think I should paint a fuller picture.
None of the following is said to blame or shame my kid, or be all "LOOK WHAT A NIGHTMARE MY LIFE IS". It just is. It's hard, and I can say that it is hard.
1) Flip is still mad about how I handled buying his new bed back in Sept, so still insists on sleeping in OUR bed. With me there for comfort. Aaron stays in Flip's bed because the kid kicks in his sleep, often nailing him with a heelstrike to the huevos 🥚🥚

Yes, we'd hire more support care if we could, but
1) he's resistant to new carers, but is usually OK when we invite people over as friends.
2) our budget, incl allowance from Manawanui, is maxed out.
I know I'm not selling us very well atm, but really we're fun most of the time! It's just when we all go a long time without socialising or getting regular breaks, we all go a bit mad.

There was almost a reprieve when his dad took him for a walk, then they proceeded to argue at the gate for 10 minutes over the kid taking his scooter 🛴 (which he always uses to race ahead of his parents or carer recklessly) until I came out to mediate.
Then they left, I rested, drank my caffeine for the day, then began to tidy the lounge to vacuum the littered carpet, when my phone rang. Kid was freaking out at the park and I had to walk down to help.

Tunanui Tahi was surprisingly complicated for a mostly tubular critter, so of course I decided to make Tunanui Rua... Weighted! 😂
Also tried a different velour yarn, a smaller gauge, with two colours wound together. Pretty effect, but I think I'll stick with the thicker one. It works up quicker.

Also experiencing some minor "air hunger". It's not asthma, it's not painful or heart-attacky, it's just... Weird. Like I feel like taking a deep breath, I do so.... Feels like only an average breath.
And yes, this is also not unheard of in the #perimenopause reddit. Some say it could be "silent reflux", or iron deficiency. Increasing dose of estrogen seems to help.

In other news, can someone point me to the precise brush or whatever tool one needs to apply polyurethane varnish smoothly to a hardwood floor, ideally on Bunnings or Mitre 10's website?
The tin says "apply with brush or roller". The first coat, I tried a standard bristle brush: it left streaks. The second coat, I used a roller: it left tiny bubbles, now pockmarks.

Thinking of moving my sewing machine and ironing board out to the garage and setting up a workspace there, since I don't use them every day but do want to make repairing and alterations a weekly or fortnightly habit.
However, the garage gets pretty hot in summer. Last summer the outdoors alone got as hot as 30°C IIRC. Would that be damaging to my equipment to live out there at that temp or higher?

yes, even more frequently for sleep and cramps, but I try to space them out because I know minerals can mess with each other's absorption. Sometimes I take selenium too, NZ soil is reportedly low in it
