Yes, multiple restart, even a whole Mac update restart.
One thing that might be relevant: this is a Mac I hadn’t been using for a while - several weeks at least, perhaps even a couple of months.
I’m wondering if it was perhaps way behind and something hasn’t caught up quite right.
