the window is opening to take up the full screen without being full screen? full screen height? macOS 26.x? I have found if you drag a window close to the edges of the screen such that the window server gives you suggested window snapping to a quarter or half of the screen then on occasion the window will try and go back to that place/size even if you've resized it.

I can only imagine the onslaught of bugs Apple is going to get for Xcode 26.3 and the Agent stuff. “I asked for an app that uses WeatherKit but still had to search a bunch of stuff to get it to work after the agent wrote the code.”*
*You still have to go to Apple's dev site and add the app id and give it WeatherKit permissions and then add the capability in ‘Signing & Capabilities’ before it'll work.

I wrote a little apple watch app to get me to stand up more during the day. It did work to motivate me to stand more but then Xcode could no longer find my watch and the build has expired. Could try and put it on TestFlight (haven't ever tried that with a pure watch app with no iOS companion app though)

no still on my list to look through the code and see what could be going on. If you open Terminal app and type ‘defaults read com.tapbots.Ivory | grep MainLastPosition’ and then resize your main window in Ivory and then run that same command in Terminal again does the 3rd number change accordingly (it will be the width of the sidebar + one of the columns)?

I just tried what you demonstrated in your screencast. Resize main window, click close button, click Ivory app in the dock to bring back main window. Worked as expected (on 15.3.1). What version of macOS are you using?

iOS and Mac could sure deal much better with low battery connected devices than it currently does. Sometimes I get a 'low battery' warning for trackpad but more often it just dies and have to connect to start charging. Same with iPad and the pencil. I've even been writing and it just dies. No warning like pencil at 10% or 5% maybe consider charging it. Yeah I'll file a FB.

what we really should do is make a page on tapbots.com that lists the various key commands since iPad also has a bunch of key shortcuts. Tab/Shift Tab - move between columns, esc can be used to close most sheets. command-enter to save/post. Left arrow triggers the back button, home/end and page up/down. The rest are in the main menu.

Wonder if anyone is working on Spotlight anymore. Searching for apps it usually finds the ones on my second partition (running Sequoia) instead of the partition I'm on. I did a search today for some invoices and it returned ones from 2014 and 2018 and didn't even include any of the many from 2024. I guess search just isn't that important.

yeah the completion method.. oh well if you worked on that code in UIKit you know much better than I. I did try and disassemble some of the glue controller code when I was working on the share extensions in Ivory (also trying to change the modal presentation somehow) but was unsuccessful.

try calling that method earlier? loadView, viewWillAppear:? I don't think the extensionContext is available when you are creating your share view controller in init(xxx).

what would you call all the sub_xxxxxxx() calls all over the place when disassembling apples frameworks? Sure seems like they are trying to make it really hard to see the code.

I think you need to do 'sqlite3 name_of_database_file’. And then .tables should display the tables in that file. Of course I have no core data projects sitting around but pretty sure the file should end with .sqlite file extension.

can you grab the group container folder from your device? There should be a sqllite file in there for the database (since based on core data). All the table names are ZZZZEntityName or something similar. In terminal if you can get to the database in the file system you can do ‘sqlite3 database name’ then .tables to list tables then ‘select * from ZzzzYourTsble’ to see the data stored.
