That annoyance is not EVEN about my del Toro fandom. It reminds me of all the pastors & pseudo-intellectual religious people I used to know & how they loved to make it sound like they sat at some revered person's feet & learned something profound, when really they went to one networking event, met the guy, & had the most superficial conversation imaginable or possibly just stole the quote from an interview or book.
