it's 2.4 gigahertz, i'm not sure whether the access point can do 5 or if it's just disabled, and if it can then i'm not sure the server's wireless card supports it, and even if it does i'm in the next room over. there's many access points belonging to the neighbors.

sometimes it works quite fast though and sometimes it doesn't.
