Yes I think a majority of spam depends on super repetitive methods. (Like replying to every post they see with a link, or constantly spamming the same thing into global). It would never be economical for them if they weren't providing value. So I think it might be the only way. So far I'm not seeing any better ideas come up but I'd love to hear some anytime..
