Just substitute old, this stuff "almost 50 years ago" started when I was in high school.
Pretty sure you don't have to be _Italian_ to hold grudges, be blood feud adjacent etc. etc.... In any case, my ancestors were to Italy's NW and inside the Hajnal line.
