the problem is really that growth is actually good in the first place. In all my lifetime, the GDP of this country has actually made no difference to my ability to live and thrive. What has made a difference is not economically measurable, so, for most economists, worthless. Also, people's generosity has not done harm to our finite environment like the capitalist idea of continuous growth. We need to fundamentally reassess our analysis to account for that.
