I suspect we've reached the carrying capacity of the UK on its current economic model, so until we completely reorganise our economic thinking big growth can't happen. All CoEs for at least 50 years have been wedded to the private good, public bad mindset, complete with trickle down economic beliefs.
Growth isn't possible as there is no public sector foundation from which the private can flourish, except possibly financial services, which has vast Public Sector underpinning.
