I often think we're far too quick to declare it impossible to ever change the US via the political process simply because it doesn't happen overnight. Nor typically even within one session of Congress. It's a long slow slog, district by district, state by state, fighting tooth and nail. Building coalitions. Lobbying. Pressure. Nonviolent protest. The country IS capable of changing for the better, we've just gotten complacent of letting the SCOTUS grant rights rather than fighting in the halls of politics for it.
