yes, but they weren't lizards.
it's not mainstream because of how it has an unfortunate relation to many ancient stories of a global disaster recounted in the bible and many other places, and that is offensive to nihilistic materialist commie bitches that dominate academia.
there's more stuff than just these things also. check out a youtube pod UnchartedX if you want to see some stuff especially about anomalous things that are part of the ruins and artifacts found in egypt. vases that seem to have been manufactured with 5 axis CNC grinders with more precision than we have now. solid pieces of stone metres wide that have marks that appear to be signs of the use of several metre diameter cutters like are used now to do similar things. and then the anomalies like solid pieces of stone weight over 100 tons that originated hundreds of kilometers away at different locations.
and i've seen one where he spent a little time talking about ancient papyrus manuscripts describing the civilization of "gods" who left these things behind before the dynastic period (before 5000 years ago).
i think other parts of the problem is that this advanced civilization was what Plato and other ancient greeks referred to as "Atlantis" and these "gods" were called "titans" and there is even a very clear correspondence between the biblical description of the war in heaven between the angels and the fallen angels, Plato's text Critias describes the later period of atlantis and trails off as the war is starting to kick off. this very likely was about 13000 years ago.
the thing about a high tech society is, like now, most of the artifacts are metallic and these don't survive very long, and are frequently recycled into new tools, and all we can ever hope to find is very rare cases where metallic items were sealed up somehow, but everything else turns into oxides that are indistinguishable quickly from everything else in the soil.
