To be clear, this is not a simple decision for anyone, including me. I will not shame my siblings for putting their head down to survive.
And putting your head down does not immediately imply inaction.
But as someone else recently mentioned, this fight is bigger than us. We can't succeed in this fight without accomplices and it will take far more than our collective. We have responsibility, yes. My siblings, your first responsibility is to survive, to exist, to live, whatever that means for you that maintains your greatest integrity of self. You need to see to this before you can see to the rest of us.
You do what you can with the skills, assets, environment you have. Our threat levels are not all the same. We cannot all individually carry the entire weight of of oppression. This is a shared burden and you can only carry the amount of weight that you can.
Each according to their ability, each according to their needs means this, too.
