I fully agree with everything you've said, and my main distro is arch, but for the more casual I'd recommend Manjaro over Arch. its been 3 or 4 years since I've last done it so maybe arch has improved, but last time (and every time before that going back over a decade) the arch install procedure was not for the uninitiated. manjaro's install was far more hand-holdey, and in the end you have an arch system anyway
