sounds intriguing, what weird federation? (I'm using the Mastodon app like I mentioned so I'm not defending Pachli/Tusky since I don't really use them.)
I think whatever content/posts you get in your app isn't related to which app though. I think its related to your server. In your case bardicperspiration.club and in my case folkdata.se. The app just displays what the server "serves" it has influence over what is fetched or not. At least I think so.
