In hindsight I should have waited to update to Ubuntu 26 when I knew I had a new toy getting delivered in the mail today.
Send me any bugs you find, I am trying to release a new version next Monday.
Me too! I just love them more when I have money to stack 😅
If you have an older phone that is starting to feel slow, update to Android 17 as soon as possible: Generational Garbage Collection, DeliQueue lock-free MessageQueue, Kernel AutoFDO, Forced Vulkan GPU pipelines, Lower Memory Footprint are massive performance wins that are visible to the user in almost every phone and automatically applied to every app 🚀
Turns out living is a sickness.

never seen so many bootlicker comments like for the India bitchat takedown post on x, truly bizarre
if you were in the Soapbox Community on Armada you'd see cool messages about Opus 5 being live on Shakespeare for all to use.

Trump is humiliating and showing all the socialist countries like the EU & Canada who the big boss is. The Trump admin is going to crush their economies because they refuse to join the US into taking their countries into a free market economic system.

I'll make sure to remember this for your future wolp trivia quiz.
Transparency should be enforced at the funding layer, without giving funders control over Bitcoin. Ideally tracked by a transparent ledger like your proposal.
Each member should publicly disclose its pledged and disbursed amounts, recipients, selection rationale, conflicts of interest, milestones, and the work produced: research, code, reviews, tests, repositories and, where relevant, BIPs.
Recipients should publish periodic progress reports, while independent technical reviewers and the wider community verify delivery over time.
But funding must never be mistaken for consensus. Supporting a developer or proposal does not buy protocol influence. BIPs remain proposals; adoption ultimately belongs to Bitcoin’s users.
The standard should be simple: trace every dollar to verifiable work, independently audit the process, and never confuse sponsorship with authority.
Correct. I have a show all about that actually 🤣

Imagine thinking that one achieves independence from a totalitarian ruler without paying some price for it?
No volatility, no risk, no days of losses, no period of stagnancy, no regulatory risk, no institutions fighting back. Just skipping through meadows and green candles and then throwing in the towel the moment the wind blows.
Bitcoin isn't about getting rich, if that's why you're here then you've lost the plot. Bitcoin is about not being beholden to the waste and corruption of a class of people who live off of monetary fraud. Bitcoin is about PROVING that they cannot dilute us for their wars, they cannot counterfeit for their subsidies, they cannot indebt us and our children and their children to get the lie of "free stuff" today.
Bitcoin is about independence and the risk and costs that come with it. We may get wealthy IF we achieve independence. But we will never get it asking for permission or waiting for green candles before even taking a stance.
Imagine if the American founders had said "we pledge our lives as long as we are comfortable, our fortunes as long as they only go up, and our sacred honor as long as we only benefit from this quest. Otherwise we apologize and ask the King's approval."
Some people may not understand that this is THE battle, and maybe they have no idea how or where they are paying for the corruption of their own society. But they are paying for it nonetheless. Bitcoin is the solution and it's not because its going to go up every day you hold it. Quite literally the opposite in fact. When we take away the power to dilute the money, we force them to come straight to our door with their guns and demand what we have earned directly.
Bitcoin's mission is to destroy the illusion that they are giving us something for free, and prove that the state is a system of violence and the central bank is a system of covert theft at an unheard of scale.
That is the purpose of this tool. It is *independence* through technological rebellion. Not wealth. It is *risking our wealth* for a chance at ending the era of central banking and infinite debts and a world where kids grow up with the poisonous and absurd notion that even as technology becomes more advanced and our capacity to produce grows exponentially, somehow everything still gets "naturally" more expensive and wealth becomes more concentrated.
Nothing could be further from the obvious truth. It is govt debt, the central bank money printer, and the counterfeit class that huddles around them like leeches that suffocate society of what would otherwise be stable and consistent growth in our general prosperity, time, and meaning.
If you are here only because of 50% returns and leave when it falls 25%... we are not the same.
Opus 5 is essentially Fable 5 at half the price.

Now you know.
"Bitchat enables anonymous communication without mandatory user registration, phone number verification, or centralized logging of communications."
Well yeah, that's the whole fucking point.

India has ordered GitHub to take down three repositories associated with Bitchat, citing difficulties for law enforcement interception and user identification.
Nostr powered git fixes this. The time is now for https://gitworkshop.dev and ngit to shine!

Let's hope for the best and plan for the worst.
$15 million for open-source security work is welcome. The word “consortium” is where scrutiny begins.
Bitcoin does not need institutional permission. Its developers deserve institutional funding.
Nine major firms have pledged $15 million over three years to support Bitcoin developers and security research. Each firm will choose where its money goes, while the new consortium says it will neither direct Bitcoin’s development nor support specific protocol changes.
Good.
Now publish the receipts.
Because funding does more than pay salaries. It determines which problems receive attention, which researchers gain runway and which solutions acquire institutional legitimacy.
That is influence, even without formal authority.
Bitcoin’s rules remain with the network. The research agenda must not quietly migrate toward the institutions financing it.
Disclose every commitment, recipient, conflict and result. Fund competing approaches. Separate new capital from existing promises.
Institutions may finance Bitcoin’s defence. They do not inherit a vote.

best spam prevention, hands down
Telling a government to GFY to lobbying to the same government when some open source competition enters the market, all within a few months, is crazy work.

A decade from now, I’m sure Netflix will produce a documentary about the agents who destroyed Bitcoin
The guys who were principled sat stackers and never shitcoiners will laugh at all the batshit crazy narratives they created over the years to prevent BTC from becoming money
“We had to protect the supremacy of the dollar, so we told them to HODL indefinitely because this is a store of value. Never sell your bitcoin! Meanwhile, our friends from BlackRock captured the price discovery to turn this thing into an institutional asset that nobody transacts for goods and services.”
You’ll recognize the faces. They liked your memes. You had lunch with them after a conference. Maybe you shared a drink together.
Now they’re on the TV screen in your living room. Not on some pleb podcast, but on a Netflix special. Not there to make you feel more bullish, but to laugh in your face and remind you how dumb you really were.
Some will laugh, some will cry, some will be in denial. But it is what’s happening and you’re asleep at the helm because you think it’s “bullish” and one day your 1000 sats will buy you a yacht. That’s exactly what they want you to believe.
