They had major innovations in how they manage context that makes inference need way less memory, but yes if you use any of hosted providers for sure your data is being used for training at a minimum
I feel like the big models aren't improving that much between versions lately, perhaps even enshittifying (ads in Gemini now, pretty sure opus 4.6 was better than current opus)
but the open source ones are catching up, deepseek v4 is very impressive especially for the cost
I think it's important that nostr has censored clients and different teams make different choices. It's not a position I'd want to be in that's why I built wisp the opposite way where I can't control it and be absolved of it.
But I 100% support any developer running their clients however they want and whatever they think is best and let users choose what kind of ux they want. That includes censorship policies from pedos to assholes or whatever they want.
