Also it ships with Bianbu, a distro based on Ubuntu. The default desktop was LXQt instead of Gnome, which complicated keyboard configuration and lacked several features. Switching to Gnome solved those issues. As of about a week ago, there is now an image available to install Ubuntu 26.04 directly, which could be a great option. Performance is pretty good and near ready for daily desktop use. Looking forward!

Monero is honestly great, I'm a Bitcoiner but I'll admit XMR is literally the only altcoin I use and it clearly has genuine advantages for privacy. I literally used it just a few hours ago in fact.
But Lightning is so much better suited to this use case (instantly sending through a messaging app) and Bitcoin is better sound money.
Lightning provides decent privacy itself as well - not Monero level, but enough for most people since there's no public blockchain and transactions use onion routing.
And fair enough if you don't send fiat via messaging apps but a lot of normies do, so making it just as easy to send Bitcoin is seriously a big deal.

I’m willing to believe the analysis I read that (to date) there were no valid monetary use cases that used the disabled op code, so they’re not preventing anything monetary going forward (and old transactions are grandfathered in). Even the new BIP-110 compliant ordinals embedding approach could be blocked without preventing new monetary code from embedding its (small) payload in OP_RETURN instead of non-executable script.
