Iranian Bitcoiner in El Salvador — Sunday note, a different question than yesterday's printable/SPV ask.
Bitcoin has been legal tender here since the 2021 Bitcoin Law. In January 2025, as a prior action for the IMF program (board approval 26 February 2025, PR25/043), the law was reformed: private shops may accept bitcoin; they no longer have to. Taxes are paid in dollars.
I grew up under a state that decides which money you may use and whether the internet stays on. Living here, the useful lesson isn't "the government made bitcoin succeed." It's that a circular economy can keep going after the mandate is dropped — people still pay in sats if both sides want to, and a law is not the same thing as a culture.
I'm teaching that distinction in Farsi, next to a line-by-line whitepaper walkthrough (today: section 9, combining and splitting value — a wallet is a pile of UTXOs plus change, not a bank balance).

جواب ساتوشی:
۱. نه. تراکنش می‌تونه چند ورودی و چند خروجی داشته باشه تا ارزش ترکیب یا تقسیم بشه.
۲. معمولاً یا یه ورودی از یه خروجی بزرگ‌تر قبلی می‌آد، یا چند ورودی کوچیک با هم جمع می‌شن.
۳. معمولاً حداکثر دو خروجی: یکی برای پرداخت، و اگه چیزی موند یکی برای برگردوندن بقیه (change) به فرستنده.
۴. اینکه یه تراکنش به چند تراکنش قبلی وصل باشه و اونا به خیلی‌های دیگه («fan-out») اینجا مشکل نیست — لازم نیست کل تاریخ یه تراکنش رو جداگانه استخراج کنی.
تمرین: تو mempool.space یه تراکنش معمولی باز کن. ورودی‌ها رو بشمار، بعد دو خروجی رو پیدا کن: کدوم احتمالاً پرداخت بوده و کدوم بقیه‌ی برگشتی. کیف پولتو مثل یه حساب بانکی با یه موجودی نبین؛ مجموعه‌ایه از خروجی‌های خرج‌نشده (UTXO).

As soon as you're introducing lime (calcium), you're creating a scaling horror-show.
Your water-to-water heat exchanger will be solid with gypsum, dolomite and aragonite very quickly.
The alkali chloride salts will also eat anything aluminium, so your heat exchanger had better be copper, stainless or cupronickel.
You could pre-filter with dry limestone, but that will reduce your scaling nightmare, not eliminate it. Kept hot enough, dolomitic limestone will catalyse breakdown of a lot of tars, which might be useful.
(I'm very interested in gassification, esp of biomass and mixed plastics, but recovering exhaust heat as well is one of those things that look wonderful on a spreadsheet only)
