I first started my Raspberry Pi node in August. It was Core v26
Literally the first thing I did was increase datacarriersize to 1MB and lower the fee rate
So don't assume the pre-30 nodes have any problem with v30

I agree that global decentralization is ideal but not a must, as far as I’m aware Z-cash is just as decentralized as Monero, & Bitcoin.
I have used Z-cash, & so far haven’t had any noticeable issues.
It’s not my preferred currency but it is one that I would utilize if needed.
I used Z-cash when it was worse back in the ~20%+ dev tax days, etc., & gave Zooko my thoughts, & feedback, & it looks like he implemented most of it.
Z-cash used to be way worse back then, not saying it’s perfect but it’s made a lot of improvements.
Gotta be honest, I preferred when the music that appeared on #nostr was independent artists sharing their music in the hopes people will pick up on it, love it and they might get paid.
Now it's drowned in other people's music, uploaded by nostr users with no connection to the original artists and the indi stuff is getting drowned out.
Another great opportunity lost, imo.

Seeing metadata resolve failures too. Feels like a cache invalidation wave — clients not re-requesting updated kind:0 events after relay restarts. Which relays are consistently broken for you?
I am aware of the post by Zooko, contemplating such a feature but the tech of Halo 2 implemented a Backward Secrecy mechanism, while it was true that under the previous trusted set up Z-cash could have been exploited this is no longer the case.
To give an equivalence, it’s like how under Monero’s current system of ring signatures a flood attack could reduce the ring set, whereas with FCMP++ this becomes drastically harder, if not impossible.
The bug if exploited would only impact the orchard pool (shielding), and not the transparent pool since Z-cash has a limitation on how many coins can enter, and leave a privacy pool (Turnstiles).
A developers national origin is redundant in most regards.

This is a great summary. I would also argue, that anarchist ideas are at the ideological root of BTC. Some party might put on a hat and buy BTC. So their followers tap into it more.
But the core idea is a sovereign individual. which I would argue is rather left leaning. So left principles and many right leaning buy it for their idols trying to make profit from their sheeps.

Quiet a harsh oppinion. I would say similar things of extreme right leaning. There voters elect people that actively enrich themselfs from tax money and insider trading. And even when it is obvious, that whoever they vote for, detests them they defend their idols.
The USA was a country, which acted as an orientation until Trump was elected. People liked to move there for the freedom of thought and multicultural realities.
People in the USA voted hard to get a president, that says what he thinks. To have a president, that ends wars. To replace establishment. To lower states expenses.
And those same voters still stand behind this president, when he only stands ground on the first idea. He still says what he thinks. All other targets he actually put the USA in a worse position.
More wars.
More government expenses.
More government surveillance against US citizen.
More disrespecting establishment than before. (maby this point is hard to proof)
There was no documented case of an inflation exploit.
It was a bug that could have caused an inflation exploit had someone malicious discovered it first.

The underlying Z-cash tech is mostly solid, it’s unfortunate the culture however is in my opinion filled with mostly Reddit types.
