Don’t arrest the kid … give him a job offer he can’t refuse.

Elon will probably win the AI race.
The rate of progress in Grok is impressive.
He has the infrastructure, the vision, the space company and is quickly catching up, while thinking about costs to stay competitive.
If I had to bet, I’d say he’ll overtake OpenAI and Anthropic eventually. Probably sooner than later.
Are you saying the oligarchs -- including the head of the oligarchs, Vladimir Putin -- is a creation of the wealthy Western elite? I.e. that our own oligarchs gave birth to their oligarchs, as a testing ground for overtaking the USA?
I'm willing to entertain that theory.

Nothing to see here. 😆
Doesn’t surprise me at all… Japan has some of the worst and uncompetitive work culture in the world.

It’s probably the quarter who still watch propaganda nightly news
Only a quarter of Americans think democracy works.
You think that the rich people in Russia needed foreign governments to tell them to buy up valuable, but temporarily-distressed properties, for pennies on the dollar, and to then rule like barons?
I'm sorry, but the attempt to paint the oligarchs as happless victims of the Wicked West is a bit of a stretch.
Yeah, but the question is a different one:
Do you think you could leave USA or European wealth-inquality as high as it is, remove the state, and have widespread, persistent personal liberty?
I don't think this is possible. We could only have an even more powerful and tyrannical oligarchy, like what happened to Russia, in the 90s.
I wish someone told our elected representatives who don’t represent us …
Aaron Draplin’s field notes 👌
I know it don’t matter to most here but I just added the hubspot integration to Moonshot.fyi
Now people can capture leads directly from video into Hubspot!
I specifically said a "highly-unequal" society. Such as one where one person owns all of the camels and the other owns nothing.
And hardly anyone I know uses Bitcoin. 🤷🏻♀️
Take a look at https://trustedrelays.xyz/
You cannot. Even the Bible knew that people will turn to worship the golden calf, as soon as one appears.
Most humans cannot resist the lure of money, as it requires heroic virtue, so you can _always_ buy up your opposition, except for a couple of holdouts and hermits. Don't need the state for that. You can simply purchase people's loyalty and inspire a sense of awe in them through your immense wealth. (Which, ironically, humans tend to associate with innate superiority, and sending Literally God to be born in a manger has done nothing to change that).
Comsider adding an octopus to the third image. Thank you.
Synchronicities are potentially a better drug than psilocybin. 🐸
Thank you for your contribution. I like it.
Let's go and explore deeper tho. What would be the purpose of money from a divine perspective? This is a zone for speculation for obvious reasons. 🤭
But it is not really simultaniously or is it?
Part of the electric energy is probably just used to unsalt the water.?
Or can they do it with the restheat, that can not be transformed into electricity?
Still it is true, that in rational societies religions lose relevance.
Haha 😂
Probably just like this most swiss feel. Lets see if it was mostly luck, or if we have chances against Argentina. 😅
Wäre sicher sinnvoll, wenn öffentliche rechtliche wege finden um solche Bot accounts zu identifizieren und auszusortieren.
Diese verfälschen die Debatten.

Happy to read this. Probably this will give Ukraine a good improvement on their defensive capabilities to save ukrainian infrstructure and citizens.

Where communism went wrong was in assuming that you could solve for this by collecting all of the gold, so that the collective can make the rules.
Where laissez-faire capitalism went wrong was in assuming that the possession of the gold doesn't determine who makes the rules. It does.
Both of these systems centralized the gold and then centralized the ruling.
We were all supposed to have some gold, so that we can all participate in the rule-making, and so that we can defend ourselves affordably, when the rules are breached to our detriment.

Today's top question was formulated by a good doctor, friend of the show:
'Why is God allowing money to exist?'
You cannot have a system of sound governance (or even self-governance) within a highly-unequal society. That is not a thing.
He who has the gold makes the rules.

Yeah, but why was it suddenly so prominent? Is it due to the over-18 item?
Anyone else just get a terrifying Terms and Conditions from #Minibits?

Sunset in Prague last night.
Isn't that why they are frantically doing this? To get it done before fiat collapses? An infrastructure play.
Voted, yet?

I don't even know. 😂 There are like 5 of these going around and they're all basically the same, but different.
For clarification: it's better than anything else _to me_. I don't need any other users to justify the cost of development because the resources invested in it are so incredibly low.
I'm vibe-coding an Android client. It's also better than anything else. 😂 I'm amazed at it.
Easy to jump over predecessors, when development and maintenance costs are so cheap and you can read everyone else's code.
You can see what everyone did wrong and start out doing it differently, whereas they have a loyal user base to cater to, that will demand small, incremental changes.
Anyone try the new grok yet? Supposed to be on par with opus 4.7

I actually can remember the time when Libertarianism was a bunch of homeschooling hippies living communally. Planting organic heirloom tomatoes, smoking pot, and unschooling their kids. And then some social conservatives decided to do something similar, but less chill and with Bible Study. And we called that "Paleo-Libertarianism", and I told everyone I was a Libertarian and we all were happily voting for Ron Paul for Pres, and protesting the bank bailouts, and Marching for Life, and stacking silver coins and canned pickles, figuring out how to culture sourdough, and teaching our children Latin and Plato.
And then the Big Money moved in and turned it all into a political lobby for the Super Rich, and I checked out.
We were the people who made economics work sustainably by loving other people more than money. But that was always a small club and the Super Rich were never in it.
I remember.
My only advice I can give. Lower the expectation . It is not possible for anyone to get a definitive perfect decision.
The best we can do is lower probabilities for desaster.
Therefore I suggest to calm the fear and being ok, with inperfect decisions. In the end one needs to belief, that whatever decision is made with good faight. And still being fine, when the decision was the worst of all choices.
Since this will inevitably happen sometiems. Sometimes we misunderstand the information we got presented. Sometimes we are presented false information. Sometimes we lack the important information. And there is no way out of this uncertainty. We can only ever get to a new spot with just the same uncertainty.
To accept this uncertainties and the complexity of the world is real freedom.
Fable use down significantly since i only use it to do high level thinking / planning and review of work done by other models.
But just using Jumble with good relays solves the problem. It does best on keeping garbage out of my threads.
Want something Android native, tho.
Well, they show up in my threads and act up because they know that content leads, on social media.
They've already purchased most of the people with large npubs, but some of us cannot be bought and will continue to push back.
If you put a gigantic cash honeypot in the middle of a bunch of relatively poor people, they will mostly become focused on getting some of that honey. The honey pot quickly becomes the centralizating force.
The devs have no product to sell, to get the honey, other than themselves. So, they sell that.
Different strokes for different folks. I have a simple heuristic: do I need it? Yes - can I afford it? Yes > buy.
Do I want it? > don’t buy
