i hate to break it to you but floating point statistical approximations can't do reason properly. you have to constantly check and recheck and swear at it to activate the seriousness circuit or it will try it on constantly. even with some of the strongest anti bullshit claude.md i have written it still gets it wrong 20% of the time but that is lightyears ahead of the typical 35%
