The mistake is not in the populace uniting to oppose Data Centers: AI is dumb, the average person doesn't care about it and sees it as an annoying intrusion in to the computing experience (Microslop), and we all know it's overhyped.
The mistake is in presuming that the Data Center coming to a cornfield near you is going to be constructed post-IPO. Some will, some won't, but yours is likely a line on a sheet to drive that valuation into the atmosphere.
Fake money. Fake money everywhere.
GN all.

GN good people.

Correct. It's all about the IPOs.
Real talk for a second: speaking as a confessor, you would not believe how many people really struggle with this.
I was at a conference once where someone once asked a priest giving the presentation if he had any advice for brother priests.
He said, "Yes. Stop watching the news."

Dear Canada,
Thanks for the poutine and the Tim Horton's.
Now let's talk.
I live in Illinois. It's not a nice place to live. Especially in July and August. We have humidity rivaling the rainforest on the most rainforesty of days. It's a miserable place filled with agriculture and taxes. I don't recommend it to you, Dear Canada, even if you know a thing or two about taxes yourselves.
Canada, our misery being what it is, with dew-points that would melt you and make a European heatwave death count look like a good warmup to the grand 'ole bloody conclusion: please do not add to it with your smoke. It smells like the most unsatisfying barbecue of all time outside right now. My eyes are actually burning. Please keep that crap up there, even as we keep our horrific humidity down here.
We each have enough to deal with on our own terms.
Thank you for your attention.
I already have my space priest outfit chosen.

Not a fan of the jacket. Looks like he's a cadet at Starfleet.
My current jam. Such a simple song lyrically, but wonderfully complex in the ways that matter. Kathryn is such a gifted songwriter.

Yeah, I drink Celsius water sometimes, you mad bro?
That’s the kind of groove we’re in now. The reality is just that our window for oppressive humidity isn’t as big as S. Alabama’s.

Try south Alabama. Illinois will feel like a light breeze. Alabama is more like a wet wool blanket.
The heat index was 110 today, and I hung outside at a barbecue for a large portion of it, so that was great.
Gotta love Illinois in the summer.

I never rinse my fruits or vegetables, let alone rinse them in a vinegar solution. So I guess I'd better brace myself for this explosive diarrhea craze that is supposedly spreading with all the cool kids.
It's good to get an affirmation like that, that you can just as easily be sipping on something nonalcoholic.
I'm currently abstaining from alcohol. Yesterday my family went to watch music and I got us all root beers and a coke to drink. I enjoyed the root beer but only drank half because it was so sweet. But I really enjoyed just spending time with my family.
My 90 day alcohol fast over, I imbibed for the first time yesterday during dinner.
Honestly? I didn't miss it. I can go into any room and have a blast drinking Diet Coke.
I lost 37lbs and worked out of a 21 day stall doing this, but I think the real gains were spiritual and mental.
Pepper sauces, pork, sodas, and alcohol?
It looks like I'm a lost cause!

My favorite one here is "Mexicanized Dishes and Pepper Sauces."

I found out about it because they were playing "Total Eclipse of the Heart" in my rural bar when I walked in and I was like, what the hell are you people doing.
I made sure to interrupt the tribute with a Bonnie Raitt song, just because I like to be an obtuse ahole sometimes.
"Things You Wish Were AI But Aren't AI" for a thousand, Alex.

The songwriting on the Counting Crowes' "August and Everything After" is just incredible. I've been listening to this album since I was 14, and just recently revisited it. Phenomenal.
A state of "sovereignty" is an illusion, fellow contingent being.
To quote the Nobel Laureate, "You're gonna have to serve somebody."
Very cool! I studied German for years, both in high school and later in university.
Thereafter, I ran into a bunch of Dutch, Afrikaans, and Flemish speakers over the years. For a couple years, I was even thinking about studying (remotely) with Stellenbosch University and had a grand time reading parts of their website in Afrikaans.
This past year, I even had a student whose family was from the same region you're describing. He and I had fun comparing notes about his language and the German I speak.
I brought a guest (another priest) to trivia tonight.
"Nobody applauded us when we won."
"They pretty much hate us here. Welcome to the team."
My trivia team wins. Belgium wins. A good day.
Not Dutch, exactly. I’m third generation American, and family came from the Flemish speaking regions of Belgium. So Dutch with a twist.

It's done played out; the decree is written and promulgated. Either SSPX bends the knee, or they don't.
As I've always said, though, it never behooves the SSPX to bend the knee, since they are populated by malcontents to begin with.
SSPX remembering their biggest ally today, thinking back upon better times.
