Bedbugs.
I would line dry 100% of the time except my dad's house has a perennial bedbug problem. Dryer heat kills the eggs. Plain air drying does not.
So that's a caveat. I myself prefer lines and racks.

If you haven't tried filters on Mastodon yet, but you like content warnings, you might not know that individual filters have a "hide with warning" option that makes the post with the keyword look exactly like it's been CW'd.
I really like it. For instance, I put all my politics keywords in one filter so that on days I have cope, I can reveal each one if/as I'm feeling it. And on days of no cope, scroll on by, untouched. If I run out of cope, no problem.

At the US-80 stop I asked if they were looking for DUI's and after a pause the officer said yeah.
At the 49 West stop I asked if a prisoner had escaped (because we got three prisons in this town). The officer said, no, this is just something they do from time to time to keep everybody safe.
At the 49 East stop I asked if ICE is coming and the officer asked me if my tags were up to date or is this a rental car.

Mississippi law enforcement is doing something today. In one day I got stopped three times to show my license. They were stopping everybody.
Once on US 80, in between Jackson and Pearl, over by the I-55 interchange.
Twice on US 49 North of Yazoo City, once on 49 West where it joins East and once on 49 East at the Chemical Plant.

Alas! I didn't know that the number 2 Link line was active yet in #Seattle. My transit collection is incomplete! Good thing I have time to catch it now.
I collect all modes of transit except for buses because they tend to be ubiquitous. In most cities, I collect electric trolleys, but they're ubiquitous here, too, so I can't.
I have not smelled any human urine in any of the rail stations in Seattle or Portland. I did smell cat pee at a bus stop but I don't think that counts.

The protesters were at my church again last night. This is like the 4th or 5th occasion. It was a stunning display of weakness. They have no sign game. All their signs are commercially produced. They have no megaphone game. And their knowledge of the Bible is nearly non-existent.

Like you, I'm currently in a special circumstance. My kids are occupying my house, so they are paying the mortgage right now, which is much less than the rent they used to pay elsewhere. I stay there sometimes and in my tiny house sometimes.
But for much of my adult life, housing was ~65% of my income.

Why am I talking about counties and towns, and not households and homesteads?
Because solo preppers do not survive.
Communities survive. Because community is one of the human species' evolutionary advantages.
Another one is relentless stamina, by the way. We hunt by making the prey tired through relentless pursuit. That's another topic. Also the plasticity of the infant brain. There are a few.

I would l live a house built like this but would never be able to afford it. It would take at least 3 or 4 times the amount of money a stick-built house would.
Some people are pioneering (re-pioneering?) better construction methods with rammed earth, hyperadobe, etc. but building codes are created around wood framing so it's hard for other types to even be legal.

My lungs are vulnerable and I can't keep spending one month per year on bronchitis and pneumonia just because I got any respiratory virus whatsoever that left me open to secondary infection.
Some of my masks are marked BAD LUNGS.
In my town, people rarely say anything about my mask, whether labeled or not. Other places, though ... sigh.
