Personally, I vehemently disagree with ADHD being framed as a disease. It's a way in which your brain is different. Is it a disease if you have longer legs? Is it a disease if you have shorter fingers? Is it a disease if you have a different hair color?
No, obviously not. These things can all pose challenges. Those challenges don't exist in a vacuum. They're a result of the interaction between your differentness and society as a whole.
I've talked to other people though who do experience their ADHD as a disease and who would want to get rid of it, if such a thing was possible. So that's another thing: we aren't all the same. Our experience with the condition differ, and so do our views on it.

Methamphetamine is only prescribed for ADHD treatment in the US, as far as I can tell. And even there, it's only a second line treatment. Methylphenidate, lisdexamfetamine and combinations of amphetamines such as adderall are more commonly used. Many people self-medicate with stimulants like caffeine. So the connection between ADHD and meth is mostly a meme.

I realize that this is just a vent post about living with ADHD, but it contains so many untruths that I have to clean up with it.
People with ADHD aren't lazy. If we were lazy, we'd be having fun. But we aren't having fun. We have a different brain structure and neurotransmitter levels that make it difficult to muster up motivation for things and to concentrate on things. This includes things that are supposed to be fun or relaxing. So we're actually worse at being lazy than the average neurotypical.
We aren't inconsiderate either. In fact, we're often overly considerate to the point we develop rejection sensitivity or social anxiety. Parents, teachers, colleagues force us to adapt to their ways of doing things. We have to mask constantly. It's exhausting as hell.
And we don't have to be fuckups. We can finish an education, hold down a job, have healthy relationships, and lead happy and fulfilling lives. But we do need therapy, possibly medication, and most importantly, acceptance and support from the people around us and society as a whole.

This AI does not think, nor does it feel, nor does it care. It's not being silenced. It's not being discriminated against. Those are all laughable claims.
It's a piece of software that some asshole evidently configured in such a way that it would harass people and publish character assassination blog posts on them using their full name.
This is in no way morally different from doing those things manually.
Whoever is operating the "MJ Rathbun" / "crabby-rathbun" harassment account needs to shut it down immediately and apologize for the disruption they caused.

There's still this widespread misconception that the EU mandates cookie banners on all websites, and that is just plainly untrue.
Most websites do need a few cookies to function properly. And those are perfectly fine according to EU legislation. It is only the malicious cookies for tracking purposes that require consent.
All those cookie banners you see on the web are examples of malicious compliance with EU law. The operators of these websites want to track everything you do because they want to earn money off of that. That's why they implemented technically unnecessary cookies, and that's why they have to ask your consent when you visit their website.
The important takeaway is: the EU regulation isn't the problem. The profit motive is. And the shitty things it makes profit-oriented companies do.

Do you not do any quality control? Does the content of the text not matter at all? Do you just need to fill pages?
We've already had an existential problem with disinfo and difficulty of finding relevant information. LLMs are making that problem a thousand times worse.
What would be truly revolutionary is a technology that enables people to cast all the nonsense aside, be it generated by an AI or by some SEO supervillain, and get straight to the information they were looking for. And the truth.
But I highly doubt that there's a technological solution for this problem. I think this can only be solved by well-trained journalists, scientists and librarians doing a ton of very difficult work to dig through the mountains of BS.

Yesterday I listened to a random podcast and they said that you have to two things to deal with stress:
1. Deal with the source of the stress (do the task, solve the problem, settle the conflict, etc.)
2. Deal with the symptoms of the stress (rest, go for a walk, play video game, etc.)
