We *just* started watching Veronica Mars. Like this evening.
It's really *good*! I remember it having fans but I had no idea.
I mean, yes, it has lamentable problems. The depiction of the Latino gang leader is 🙄.
But I was looking for something that isn't copaganda. In VM the County Sheriff is just another bullying jerk of an adversary.

I'm boosting because my gut tells me this case in TX will be used as a precedent. And not everybody has been following it.
The jury convicted a bunch of people for "supporting terrorism" under the new "antifa is terrorism" rules. They were protesting in the same place as somebody they knew who fired a gun.

The cartoonist probably meant this to be a poke at unionized employees but it would probably be real.
Mission-driven non-profits suck at making sure their staff takes their legally required breaks.
Seattle Children's Hospital recently got hit with a second millions of dollars class action settlement for staff breaks.
Good job, Western Nurses Association.

These pre-Wagner actions interest me now because of what I know about organizing within my own work groups.
I suspect all of the violence caused a great societal shift but I'm curious if the specific workers saw things improve in their own specific conditions.
Within my own experience, it's a pretty small slice of workers who would participate in these tactics.

Here is a new article. The defense tore the police to shreds. The police half-ruined a young man's life over wishes, ignored evidence, and racism.

About 100 crazy brave mostly white young people dressed all in black, many of them trans-presenting, were who I saw at the Federal Building here in #Seattle yesterday.
They stopped DHS leaving the building for almost 12 hrs by piling up rental scooters.
It's just one story, I know, but it gave me a little hope.

In my early 50s, I want to learn to read sheet music.
I am in the process of finding a music teacher (if you know the challenge here, you know it). Until I get there, it occurred to me try out what's available.
I'm cringing because I suspect many of the people I know here don't remember *not* being able to read #music
