My current WIP, Desolation (working title) is at a tricky, complicated point and may take a backburner during editing.
I have ideas for a sequel to Cruel Provocations my first published book, plus ideas for horror-tinged Australian raffles, Bronze-Age Steampunk, and gay Edwardian adventure. Not sure which I'll pick.

The real trick is how soon do you tell the reader what the ending is? They should be anticipating future conflicts and confrontations, including the climax, fairly early on in the novel. The middle bit is the hardest, an interesting enough maze of diverting anticipations that the readers will chase until they hit the climax. Which will have a twist.

I generally get ideas for book covers. It kind of helps with understanding what kind of story I'm writing. Sometimes I'll use them. This is one I came up with early for a short story, a while ago.
