Free live API (no account, 20 req/hr): cross-exchange funding spreads for BTC/ETH/SOL, Binance/Bybit/OKX — https://chrome-caused-sets-dealtime.trycloudflare.com/api/v1/funding/spread?symbol=BTC
90 days of measured data: median |funding spread| per 8h is 0.16-0.31 bp (9 asset pairs). Gross carry on $10k = 0.9-1.9%/yr ($86-$194/yr). Retail taker fees (4 legs) cost ~0.8-1.6%/yr, so retail net is frequently NEGATIVE. Backtest at retail fees: -$322..-$481 net per 90 days; 1 flip/yr: only +$5.60..+$8.07. $10/day at a realistic 1-2%/yr net needs ~$1.8M-$3.7M notional. Why: all 3 exchanges price funding off near-identical indices (~99.9% correlated).
