Interviewing with a Bitcoin company?
Here’s a 3 step prep to tighten your signal before the call.
1) Your elevator pitch (1-2 minutes)✨
• Who you are: Bitcoiner + role + lane (what you’re great at)
• How you’ve grown: 1–2 steps in your progression
• What you’ve done lately: most recent impact
• Why you’re here: why this company, why this role, why now
Quick template:
“I’m a [role] who specializes in [lane]. Over the last [X] years I’ve grown from [earlier scope] to [current scope], most recently [1 measurable outcome]. I’m excited about this role because [mission + problem], and I’d love to help you [result you can own].”
2.) 3-5 Proof-of-Work stories (STAR)
Bitcoin teams care about stories that share signal.
Build a small story bank you can pull from instantly:
• Ownership: you drove a result end-to-end
• Cross-functional execution: aligned people, shipped
• Prioritization: chose the right work under pressure
• Customer impact: solved a real pain, improved retention/support/revenue
• Conflict to clarity: navigated tension and delivered
STAR prompts (bullets, not essays):
• Situation: what was happening?
• Task: what outcome was yours?
• Action: what you did (decisions + tradeoffs)
• Result: what changed (numbers, time saved, risk reduced)
3.) Show real conviction (research + mission + teammate energy)
You've envisioned yourself in the role. Now help them picture you as a teammate.
Come ready with:
• A practical mission tie-in: one real way Bitcoin has shaped how you build, work, or make decisions
• A first-30-days approach: what you’ll learn, measure, and improve first
• A teammate-level question: the kind that signals ownership and long-term fit
Strong closer question options / examples from you to the interviewer:
• “Is there anything from my answers that I could clarify in further detail?"
• "What qualities do other members of the team have that have made them successful here?"
• "Looking back, what is one piece of advice you wish you'd had when you started at this company?"
👉 Pro Tips: Tie one question back to something that was mentioned earlier that you want to dive deeper on. Turn genuine curiosity into insights to help you secure the position. Flip it back when you can to further instill why you're the best fit for the role.

Huge takeaways from the Bitcoin Student Network Summit!
The Bitcoin Students Network Summit was a masterclass in what it looks like when conviction, curiosity, and real work collide.
Across sessions on culture, academia, founder journeys, policy, development, and careers, one theme kept surfacing: there has never been a better time to build with Bitcoiners who are already treating this as their craft.
A few moments that stuck with me:
On culture and personal responsibility
In the Culture & Community: Making Bitcoin Welcoming session with Kyle Knight and Matt @nprofile…cd8v , the message was clear: Bitcoin isn’t a spectator sport. The network is made of people who refuse apathy, take responsibility for their own lives, and use Bitcoin as one of the tools in their hands.
My notes from that panel basically distilled to: anything you can do in fiat, you can do in Bitcoin, so bring your actual passions with you.
On careers and proof of work
Speakers from Summer of Bitcoin, @nprofile…ys9t, @nprofile…xcp3 , Unchained and others kept circling a pattern:
“The people who stand out treat Bitcoin as a craft, finish the unglamorous last 10%, and make their work visible.”
That’s the energy hiring managers should be looking for.
On impact and research
Researchers and academics highlighted how rigorous Bitcoin research is already moving us from debate to real-world adoption:. Curiosity, data, and persistence are actively shaping policy, products, and education.
The big takeaway for me:
The path into Bitcoin isn’t mysterious or gated. It’s open and permissionless.
Treat Bitcoin as your craft, ship real work, and let your proof of work be public.
