The problem I see with Bsky is that it pays for its usability with a kind of decentralization that brings it very close to centraliztion. The network is comprised of many modules that are theoretically interchangeable, but in practice the people behind Bsky host critical and resource-intensive modules and if they were to shut down, it would be hard to recover. It's still better than a fully proprietary network, though, where that chance is 0%.

Yeah, I've been talking about Adwaita before the flattening as a positive example of a modern theme. There are things I like with the current version, but then there are parts that look more like a collection of elements without structure and I hate that. Nautilus is a good example

Also, of all platforms supporting custom emojis, I've only seen them being rendered this small on Mastodon. When I first joined fedi on a Mastodon server and found the custom emoji feature, I thought it was completely pointless because I couldn't make out what any of them were.
If the majority of custom emojis are fine everywhere but on Mastodon, it's Mastodon which needs to adjust. But Eugen has expressed regret at introducing custom emojis, so it makes sense why things are like this.
