I had this photo enlarged in 36x24'' and I can't believe how beautiful it looks. This is only part of the waterfall as I tend to focus on details. In this case, I liked the moss on the boulders and the soft light in the forest.
I have it framed and it will be for sale at the Heart of the Valley Market this weekend in Courtenay. See you there!

Vancouver Island marmots will soon come out of hibernation. Some colonies are located on ski hills so they close the ski resort for a few weeks in April.
This marmot is endemic to Vancouver Island. It's an endangered species that is making a remarquable recovery thanks to marmots.org

Hundreds of sea lions gathered for the herring spawn on Vancouver Island this year. It attracted orcas, of course. Bald eagles, shorebirds, ducks and gulls enjoyed the feast as well.

Starting to sort and process hundreds of photos taken during the herring spawn, which is still ongoing on Vancouver Island.
For this image I liked how the light shows the whiskers on the sea lion. I positioned myself so there were no distracting elements in the frame such as boats and other sea lions. I took this photo kneeled to be at eye level and with a telephoto lens.

I like this photo, it is actually featured in one of my books. I had to lie on the ground to create this intimate portrait. Sometimes I return home wet and muddy, twigs and moss in my hair, and that for me is a good day in the field.

In SquareSpace, you can opt to block AI crawlers in Settings. However it doesn't work since ChatGPT appears in my Analytics. Does anyone know if I could add in Website > Utilities > Website Tools > Code Injection this rule without creating any issues:

Mentored a 16-year girl for her Capstone project today. Went to a local forest to photograph a waterfall (long exposure), mossy trees and the ocean. Now she photographs in manual mode! Quick learner.
