Some simple truths about the AI hype
“LLMs are natural language computers” (Naval) — they are distributed (tokens consumed via APIs) or local (specialized edge models). OpenAI, Anthropic, xAI, Nvidia, and others are in the token business, and “OpenClaw is the iPhone of tokens” (Jensen), allowing for a huge new business in a market whose size is yet to be defined (meaning, how many token factories are needed around the world to satisfy the increasing demand for high-quality tokens).
Not all providers on all segments will survive. Open and local models deployed at the edge are vital for many industries, so they will continue to prosper too, and will be fun.
Nvidia is helping Peter Steinberger (creator of OpenClaw) with securing the software, as tokens consumed by agents are the top of the tier business model (they need expensive tokens — and a lot of them!)
And yes, LLMs are just software. Amazing technology that changed software development forever and acceltated innovation in all firlds. AGI is the hype needed to get the funds needed to run the race.

A dev wonders. After AI writes all of web dev code, will there still be people and orgs interested in creating the next version of their frameworks (Svelte, Vue…) (using AI)? Or are these the final versions?
Will agents create and compete with their own frameworks? Or will they just use the most popular ones until a final unique web framework is distilled? Until when the browser as an interface will be used?

Nostr’s userbase just shrank unfortunately; we could not attract more communities other than the bitcoin self-sovereign individuals. It’s a great idea, zaps are fine but not a differentiator anymore, and probably general public would be happier with USDT more spendable zaps (could be done via lightning?) but again bitcoin maximalists will hate the idea. It’s an idea and a reality but for a niche, and that’s fine.

STARTUP TEASES BITCOIN MINING IN SPACE
US startup Starcloud says it plans to launch a dedicated bitcoin mining rig into orbit later this year, potentially becoming the first company to mine bitcoin in space.
The announcement came from Starcloud CEO Philip Johnston during an appearance on the HyperChange YouTube channel.
Johnston said the company is currently focused on building its orbital data center constellation but confirmed that bitcoin mining hardware is also part of its near term plans.
“There’s also bitcoin mining,” Johnston said. “We’ll have some bitcoin mining ASICs on the second spacecraft launching later this year.”
The move follows Starcloud’s successful test of running an Nvidia H100 GPU in orbit, demonstrating that high performance compute infrastructure can operate in space.
Johnston says the long term vision centers on energy.
Orbital data centers and mining rigs could tap continuous solar power in space, potentially providing a cheaper and more scalable energy source than what is available on Earth.
Compared with enterprise AI hardware like Nvidia GPUs, which can cost $30,000 or more, bitcoin mining machines are relatively inexpensive, typically ranging from $600 to a few thousand dollars.
“The cat is out of the bag,” Johnston said on X. “Starcloud will be the first to mine bitcoin in space.”
He added that the opportunity could be massive, noting that bitcoin mining currently consumes roughly 20 GW of power globally and arguing that in the long run, a significant portion of that compute could move off planet.
