Also it would be good idea to figure out what interactions artist want (commissions, likes, boosts, comments or what) and encourage that.
Mostly because blueSky and even Substack Notes seem to be better at retaining users and I don't thing is a technology issue.
So maybe knowing what the artists expect would allow to start the new site with users more likely to interact that way, so artists stay, after all an art site which doesn't retain artists probably will not last
