Today, the Commission unveiled its Digital Omnibus Package, reopening and weakening key elements of the EU’s digital rulebook.
The package introduces changes that would allow providers of high-risk AI systems to avoid core obligations, expand exemptions far beyond SMEs, and delay essential protections people most affected by AI.
Europe’s digital future must remain grounded in rights, oversight & democratic accountability, not deregulation disguised as simplification.

💥 A victory for privacy & civil society!
The Hungarian Presidency's last-ditch effort to pass a problematic Child Sexual Abuse Regulation text backfired today.
Blocking countries delivered strong statements, citing:
🔒 Risks of indiscriminate surveillance;
⚖️ Legal flaws;
💻 Technical concerns (e.g., client-side scanning).
With the Polish Presidency unlikely to advance the file, the proposal faces serious hurdles unless overhauled.
This is proof that persistent advocacy works.
