Our local indivisible has a Facebook page and they take photos of people at their meetings then they post the photos to Facebook. Facebook runs facial recognition software. They've doxed every person who attends their meetings. They did this after I expressed privacy concerns about Facebook. They didn't ask permission. I stopped attending their meetings. We all lose.

The people in my community consume Facebook to their detriment. They're all addicted and are uninterested in decentralized social media. they see me as a freak for requesting alternatives.
My husband won't leave B of A for a credit union. Even though we just learned that we owe $10,000 in credit card debt on a credit card we set up to pay in full every month. Which means it never once paid in full in 4 YEARS so it could steal interest $.

Last Friday three panel judges changed section 1226 of title eight. Three states, Mississippi, Texas and Louisiana no longer release folks with habeus. The 2 nastiest judges gamed it. They waited until they were both on the same panel. Next step is the 12 panel judge will vote. This is called En blanc. If that fails it goes up to SCOTUS. For now, detainis in those three states, once deported, are out. This will change. But there's a window for the fascism.

Here in Minnesota we advise each other to not doom scroll, but to self regulate. Then get back out there.
It's bad. Fascism is very very bad. But we're not helpless. We have power. Fortify your community. Make small talk. Find your allies. Get training. Historically and according to the data our best bet at eliminating fascism is through the fourth amendment. UNIDOS MN is taking the lead on 4th amendment trainings. We have to deny them service, lodging, food.
Some businesses are on board straight away. Others secretly despise ice, but won't take a stand because they don't want to stand out. Then there are businesses who actively support ice. They give up their own employees. Evil. That's the lever I'm pushing on.

When Minnesota folks share updates, we have to assume that ice now has that information. Our legal teams tell us to upload video to ACLU and our legal teams. Accountability will come in the future and we don't want the other side to have our Intel. But plenty of people haven't been trained and share information. That's OK too.
Ice keeps changing tactics. Now they're sending teams of 15 to targeted addresses. They want to overwhelm us with numbers.

My county keeps cutting funding for kids & giving more money to police. The architecture of the police buildings is exquisite. The kids read 23 year-old science books. Police drive brand new black on black cars. One of their helicopters just flew above me. The schools don't have nurses, counselors, or enough janitors. Schools buildings are old. I love Minnesota but you have to lean into the cold. The last couple winters it has not snowed very much. But the winter before that it snowed massively. There is no tax on food or clothing here. I find housing reasonable (from California), but Minnesotans say it's expensive and they move to the Dakotas to live cheaply. Always a temporary move. It's better here.
